Job Summary:

As a key technical subject matter expert, your primary objective will be to ensure that equipment availability rates remain high. You will accomplish this by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance processes, quickly resolving equipment breakdowns, and rapidly restoring equipment to service. You will partner with other Target maintenance technicians to resolve challenging issues, ensure that the work provided by outside specialty contractors meets quality standards, work with building leaders to optimize ammonia refrigeration equipment, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks with urgency. You will also work alongside others to conduct Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures and implement remedies to address systematic issues through meticulous observation and diagnostic tools. Your profound expertise in system control logic and troubleshooting techniques will be crucial. Moreover, you will function as a technical trainer and support other maintenance technicians in developing new skills. It is important to note that job requirements may be subject to change in line with business needs.

Roles and Duties:

  • Conduct regular maintenance of the Ammonia Refrigeration Equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency, as well as prolong its lifespan
  • Take part in all activities associated with Target's Process Safety Management agenda (PSM) for optimal safety and security
  • Complete preventive maintenance
  • Complete corrective maintenance
  • Components of a broken device can be controlled, reset, repaired, or replaced in order to get it back in working order
  • The upkeep of equipment necessitates the maintenance tasks of purging debris, greasing metal components, and applying a coat of paint on the surface
  • Identify issues associated with wiring methods and materials in power distribution systems and provide effective troubleshooting solutions
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on facility equipment, including powered industrial trucks, air compressors, HVAC systems, and balers to avoid breakdowns and unplanned downtime
  • To have a basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, it is important to understand schematic diagrams. Schematic diagrams show the arrangement and connections of components in an electrical or electronic circuit
  • Collaborate closely with peer technicians in developing a contingency plan that addresses potential problems encountered during the repair process
  • Conduct training sessions for maintenance technicians on technical procedures and serve as the primary trainer for Maintenance Technician Trainees
  • Leverage mobile solutions and asset management software to initiate and complete Work Orders, including relevant details such as labor hours, downtime, root cause analysis, troubleshooting steps, and spare parts consumption
  • Cultivate a conducive atmosphere where colleagues at all levels can interact positively and work cohesively
  • Create a safe work environment by removing any potential hazards associated with equipment safety
  • Capacity to Attain and Uphold a RETA CARO Accreditation

Physical Demands:

  • Incorporating regular movements such as bending, stretching, reaching, and lifting in everyday activities
  • Ensuring safe means of ascending and descending ladders, gangways, and stairs and working on high platforms and equipment
  • Continuously traversing the premises, and the areas surrounding it, for extended stretches (of up to 10-12 hours) without any prolonged rest period
  • Transport packages and products weighing up to 49 pounds by lifting and moving them
  • The act of repeating specific actions that may involve the fingers, hands, or wrists
  • Considerable duration devoted to using handheld gadgets or computer add-ons, such as mice, keyboards, measuring devices, and infrared thermometers
  • Executing the operation of machines, powered tools, motor cars, and/or bulky equipment, which also involves handling Powered Industrial Trucks with pedals, tillers, and switches
  • Application of non-electrical equipment, including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers and more, that are operated manually
  • Working in certain environments may involve exposure to cramped or restricted spaces, dust, inadequate airflow, unpleasant or overpowering smells, the elements of nature, extreme temperatures, excessive noise, shaking or vibrating surfaces, prolonged standing on concrete, and slippery, wet, or uneven surfaces

Qualifications:

  • Skilled in PC operations and adept at operating handheld app platforms
  • For a qualified electrician, electrical measuring, symbols, and wiring diagrams are concepts that are second nature and crucial in the daily performance of their job
  • Having worked in several fields like marketing, technology, and education, I have gained extensive experience in a wide variety of areas:
  • The first step in establishing preventive/predictive maintenance procedures is to conduct a thorough inspection of the system. This includes identifying worn out or damaged components, inspecting critical parts for leaks and corrosion, and identifying areas of the system that are likely to fail
  • The ability to accurately interpret the symbols and conventions used in a set of blueprints or schematics is an essential skill for architects, engineers, and construction professionals
  • Work order management
  • Electrical systems in industrial settings are typically more complex and demanding than those in the residential or commercial sectors, requiring specialized expertise and equipment
  • These programs are designed to be executed by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), which is a specialized computer designed to handle the demands of industrial automation
  • The NEC outlines the minimum standards for electrical safety and is intended to be adopted as law by local governments and regulatory agencies
  • The IIAR has been at the forefront of advancing the science and technology of ammonia refrigeration for over 80 years
  • With members across the United States and Canada, RETA aims to promote education, safety, and professionalism within the refrigeration industry
  • An educational background comprising of a degree from a technical or community college and industrial maintenance certifications recognized by accrediting bodies, with specialized training in the Electrical and Mechanical domains
  • A seasoned individual who has spent four years working with an ammonia refrigeration system in an industrial setting.
  • Holding a CARO and/or CIRO certification demonstrates a high level of expertise in cyber threat analysis and mitigation.
